Sardar Arsam Abbas from the Pakistan Army was declared the ‘Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet’ at the Royal Military College Duntroon on May 5, 2026. This award highlights the excellence of Pakistan’s military training.

The passing out parade took place in Canberra, Australia, and was reviewed by Australian Chief of Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart. The event also saw attendance from the Pakistani High Commissioner in Canberra.

The award is conferred on the highest-performing foreign military cadet across all facets of training. It reflects the professionalism, commitment, and excellence demonstrated by junior leadership in the Pakistan Army.

Since 2009, a total of 46 Pakistani Army cadets have graduated from RMC Duntroon. This is notable as it marks the 14th occasion a Pakistani cadet has received this distinction.

Furthermore, seven Pakistan Army officers have served as platoon commanders at RMC since 2013. The name of Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed is inscribed on the memorial stone at RMC, symbolizing bravery and sacrifice.

Observers note that this achievement strengthens ties between Pakistan and Australia, which share a longstanding military relationship. The recognition serves as a testament to the high standards upheld by both nations in military training.
