The FPSC announced the CSS 2025 results on April 30, revealing a pass rate of just 2.67%. This statistic underscores the fierce competition faced by candidates in Pakistan.
Out of 12,792 candidates who appeared for the examination, only 355 cleared the written stage. This low percentage highlights the challenges within one of the country’s most competitive civil services recruitment processes.
Key statistics:
- 12,792 candidates appeared in the examination.
- 355 candidates cleared the written stage.
- 170 candidates were recommended for appointment, including 84 men and 86 women.
Asad Rafiq secured first position in the merit list, followed by Muhammad Mohsin and Tariq Hafeez in second and third places, respectively. Interestingly, Punjab had strong representation with 23 candidates in the top 30.
No top-ranked candidates were allocated to the Foreign Service. Instead, they received appointments to the Pakistan Administrative Service and the Police Service of Pakistan.
A specially abled candidate notably achieved second merit position and was allocated to PAS. This inclusion reflects ongoing efforts to ensure diverse representation within civil services.
The CSS examination is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most competitive annual recruitment processes for civil services. The results have sparked discussions about the increasing difficulty of these exams and their implications for future candidates.
