Israel Continues Strikes in Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

On May 3, 2026, Israel’s military continued its strikes across southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement. The ongoing military actions have resulted in significant casualties and widespread displacement.

As of midday, Lebanon’s health ministry reported that 13 people died in Israeli strikes on May 3 alone. This brings the total death toll from Israeli actions since March 2 to over 2,600.

The Israeli military has issued new evacuation warnings for residents in villages beyond the areas it occupies. Residents are advised to evacuate their homes immediately and move at least 1,000 meters away into open areas.

In recent days, the Israeli military stated it dismantled approximately 70 military structures and 50 Hezbollah infrastructure sites. These operations come amid claims from Hezbollah of retaliatory attacks against Israeli troops for perceived ceasefire violations.

The ceasefire text grants Israel the right to act against planned or ongoing attacks. However, the situation remains volatile as both sides exchange strikes.

Evacuation warnings currently affect around ten villages and towns in southern Lebanon. Over one million people have been displaced since the conflict began.

Avichay Adraee, an Israeli military spokesperson, emphasized the urgency of evacuation: “For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately and move away from the villages and towns by at least 1,000 meters into open areas.”

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Israeli troops as a direct response to these ceasefire violations. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated significantly since it began several weeks ago.

The international community watches closely as tensions rise in the region. Officials have not yet confirmed any potential diplomatic resolutions.

The next developments in this ongoing conflict remain uncertain as both sides prepare for further actions.
