Capitals: NAB Transfers 6,500 Kanals Amid IPL Showdown

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has transferred 6,500 kanals of amenity plots from housing societies to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad. This significant regulatory achievement is valued at approximately Rs41 billion according to Deputy Commissioner rates.

As of early Tuesday, the transfer includes 5,484.76 kanals of land in Gulberg Residencia and 999 kanals in Margalla View D-17. Additionally, around 4,793 kanals of public and amenity land across multiple housing societies has been mutated in favor of the regulator.

The NAB’s intervention addresses long-standing gaps in regulatory compliance regarding land transfers within housing societies. This move is expected to enhance urban planning and development in Islamabad.

In a contrasting scene, the IPL match between the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals takes place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The match is scheduled for May 1, 2026, at 7:30 PM IST. Both teams have an all-time series record of 15-15 across 30 meetings.

The Delhi Capitals are struggling this season, having won only one of their last five matches in IPL 2026. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals recently defeated Punjab Kings, ending PBKS’s unbeaten streak this season.

Mitchell Starc is expected to make his debut for Delhi Capitals during this match. Chasing teams have historically dominated at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which adds pressure to both teams.

This dual narrative underscores significant developments in both regulatory affairs and sports entertainment as Pakistan navigates complex issues on multiple fronts.
