Malik riaz: Interpol Issues Red Notices for

Interpol has issued Red Notices against Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz, marking a significant escalation in their ongoing legal troubles. The announcement came during a press briefing by NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed.

As of early Tuesday, reports indicate that Malik Riaz, aged 72, is currently residing in the United Arab Emirates. His son Ali Riaz, aged 48, serves as the chief executive of Bahria Town.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been pursuing extradition since January 2025. NAB Chairman stated that bringing Riaz back to Pakistan would be a challenge.

Malik Riaz has faced multiple legal issues, including the Al-Qadir Trust case. In 2019, he and his son agreed to forfeit £190 million to Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA).

The NCA returned those funds to Pakistan, which became central to a corruption case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan. This situation highlights the complex intertwining of real estate and legal matters surrounding Riaz.

In August 2025, Malik Riaz appealed for dialogue and a dignified solution amid his legal challenges. However, the recent issuance of Red Notices complicates any potential negotiations.

Officials have not confirmed whether the claim about Interpol’s actions can be independently verified. The development could further strain relations between Pakistan and Dubai.

A Red Notice is a request circulated by Interpol to locate and provisionally arrest individuals pending extradition or similar legal proceedings. The implications of this notice may significantly affect both Malik and Ali Riaz’s future.
