Karachi temperature

Karachi is bracing for extreme heat with temperatures potentially reaching a dangerous ‘feels-like’ level of 50°C this weekend. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert as residents prepare for sweltering conditions.

On Monday, the city may experience actual temperatures exceeding 41°C, while Sunday could see highs around 40°C. The humidity levels are expected to peak at 70% on Sunday morning, contributing to the discomfort.

The forecast indicates that maximum temperatures over the three days will range between 36-41°C. On Saturday, actual temperatures might reach up to 39°C, with humidity peaking at around 45%.

Dust storms and strong winds are also predicted across several districts, including Jamshoro, Dadu, and Sukkur. Residents are urged to avoid going out in direct sunlight during the daytime.

As of midday Saturday, winds are blowing from the west at approximately 11 kilometers per hour. The ongoing warm spell is typical for this time of year in Karachi as seasonal changes bring fluctuating weather patterns.

The discomfort continued into the night due to still air and persistent humidity, leaving residents to endure muggy conditions. Authorities advise caution during peak hours, particularly between midday and late afternoon.

With no significant rainfall predicted in the immediate future, conditions are likely to remain dry and warm throughout the weekend. The heat index is expected to reach between 49°C and 50°C during peak hours.
