Iran missiles UAE: Consecutive attacks on the UAE

The UAE has come under attack from Iranian missiles and drones for the second consecutive day. On May 4, 2026, Iranian forces launched a salvo of 15 missiles towards the UAE, all of which were intercepted by the UAE’s air defense systems.

As of midday, reports indicate that three Indian nationals suffered injuries during these attacks. The UAE’s air defense engaged 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones throughout the assaults.

During the previous five weeks of war before the ceasefire on April 8, 2026, the UAE was targeted by at least 2,800 missiles and drones. The escalating violence raises concerns regarding US-Iran relations.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) denied any involvement in these attacks. They stated, “If any action had been taken, we would have announced it firmly and clearly. Therefore, the report of that country’s Ministry of Defense is absolutely denied and is devoid of any truth.” However, the UAE condemned these actions as terrorist and unprovoked.

The UAE’s Defense Ministry clarified that sounds heard in various parts of the country were due to air defense systems intercepting incoming threats. In response to potential missile threats, authorities advised residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to seek shelter.

In a broader context, President Trump announced ‘Project Freedom’ earlier this month to guide vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. This initiative follows a US-imposed naval blockade on Iranian ports initiated on April 13, 2026.

The situation remains tense as regional dynamics shift rapidly. The ongoing conflict not only impacts local safety but also threatens international maritime routes vital for global trade.
